Amelia

Amelia 1994 - 2009

Amelia came to live with us in January of 2002, when she was seven years old. We named her after Amelia Earhart because we found her at Sun City Animal Rescue Shelter, which was located beside an airport. Also, because my husband has been an aviator most of his life.

Although I loved Amelia dearly she has been my husband's constant companion ever since she laid eyes on him. In the "cat room" at the shelter she jumped into his lap and would not leave.

When we moved back to the South, Amelia rode on top of her carrier in the front seat of the truck, right beside my husband, all the way. She seemed to like watching the country go by.

So long Amelia, you have been a sweet companion and we miss you.
