For about five years we were the happiest grandparents on earth. We had three married children and ten grandchildren all living within an hour of here. Then our daughter and son-in-law and their three children moved to this small town and were only about five minutes away.
Holidays and special occasions were joyful with either our house or our daughter's house bursting with happy children and family.
Then our oldest son was divorced and we just didn't see those grandchildren very often.
Three years ago our youngest son moved his family to California for his career in post film production.

They are not likely to ever move back and with the dragging economy neither us nor his family can afford the across country trips.
We missed them terribly but we did still have our daughter and her family close by and we spent a lot of time with them. The children were involved in our church and we took them with us Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings.
Well the economy still lags and construction jobs are few and far between so this past June that young family moved to Texas. Sadness filled our lives and we didn't see a way of moving on so we put our house on the market and planned to move to Southern California to be near our youngest son and his family.
However, the housing market is almost non-existent here and our sadness returned.
We turned to God and asked Him to send the perfect buyer/contract on our house so we could go or if He had a plan for us here He would show it to us.
A few days ago we received the news that two of our darling grandchildren and their parents are coming home! They will be here in a few days and we are very excited! They are leaving some dreams behind and that is sad for them but they will find some new ones soon.

Their big brother is spending his school year in Oklahoma so we won't be seeing him for awhile but we are happy to have the others home!
Now if we could just figure out how to move the post film production back east everything would be even better!
