A Tale of Two Kitties

Amelia our beautiful 13 year old white snowshoe Siamese cat has been the "queen of the house" for 7 years now.


Recently another beautiful kitty has joined our family. Midnight is a beautiful totally black cat who is about two years old. She began hanging around our yard and sleeping on the porch swing about 5 or 6 months ago. She is a very sweet and well mannered kitty but was scrawny before we began feeding her. As the weather began to get colder we began to worry about her and she began to scratch on our back door. She would also sit on a porch chair back just outside our kitchen window and look longingly at us while we ate.

Recently weeks ago we gave in and took her to our town vet. Dr. Ann reported that Midnight is very healthy and about 2 years old with a wonderful calm and very sweet temperament. She didn't even complain when Dr. Ann checked her out and gave her several shots. However, we were assured that cats do very well on their own outside if we would just provide her with a warm and dry bed. We had been doing that but my wonderful husband, who has a very soft heart for animals, just could not let her sleep outside when the temp was forecast to dip down to 21!

Midnight has been sleeping in our garage ever sense then.

She can only stay in our garage because Amelia tries to terrorize Midnight to the new arrival.

We have been bringing Midnight in for short visits in hopes that Amelia would become more friendly.

Here they are checking out the tower. Darling husband rubbed catnip on it and we brought Midnight inside. Amelia did not even hiss until Midnight fell from the tower and landed right beside her. As you can see Midnight has become quite rotund since we have been feeding her.
